I'm not about to suggest that we should start making all sporting equipment smaller and lighter, but for bowling, it really works. We got to experience Duckpin bowling while in Baltimore. First of all, check out the size of these balls compared to the human hand.
There are no finger holes. You just palm the thing. The pins were also smaller and lighter, and more likely to bounce around and hit the others in very strange ways. I even saw a gutter ball jump up to hit the back corner pin, and the ball was going at just the right speed and hit the pin just right that it knocked down the entire set. A gutter ball!
Speed is key. And you get three rolls on one turn, which I also think is genius.
