A real cute lake

Water and cute animals have shown up quite a bit this summer. Here we are at Long Lake having just pick-a-nicked for a birthday. We were not alone at the lake, though. While lounging back by the murky water, I overheard two kids conduct the following conversation:
Boy 1: You better watch out - I'm gonna go Yankee Stadium on you!!
Boy 2: What does that mean?
Boy 1: I don't know.

You can kind of see them to the left here, next to the deceivingly sparkly water.

 

How ironic that I thought to take a photo of my flip flops, only days before I was to lose one of them in a silly canoe flip on the Little Spokane. RIP, left flip flop. I'd like to think that it floated its way to a barefooted, one-legged child waiting on the river bank.

 

Ducks. They never lose their cute factor for me.
