Sharing Kneedles!

Here is my fourth pupil, Becky. Becky and I go way back, to our freshman year at Whitworth. We worked together, studied the same major, attracted the affection of the same dude, and ended up sharing in the glory of being roommates on Stevens Street. And now, she's back in the 'kane and boy am I glad. I remember after our Whitworth graduation, I sat in our house with our other roommate, Brooke, and we cried as Becky drove away with her car full of stuff, which practically signaled the end of our Stevens Street existence. It was the end of illegal Christmas trees, late night malt beverages and Liz's mac-n-cheese, Moshu and Kishu (dogs) stealing my underwear, roasted marshmallows over a little candle in our living room, and my trying desperately to get dance parties started, and all of us begging Becky to drink beer. I cried a lot that summer anyway, what with the stress of getting a job, the strangeness of school being over, wondering how many friends I even had in Spokane anymore, and reminiscing a LOT about being in college and the above-mentioned occasions. Little did I know that a new, ridiculously fun and crazy era was about to invade my life living at the Rolland House.

Anyway, some things do come back to you and they're just as sweet as you remember them to be. As much as we change and let life happen, it's comforting to be around people with whom you've got history, the people who "knew you when" and can tell that you've actually grown up a little, but at the same time help you relive good feelings you had while you were just being silly and not having any idea or care where you'd be 5 or 10 years from then.
