Last night, I went with a few gal pals to the good ol' Spokane County Fair. There's just something about the dust, deep-fried smells, cheap trinkets, bazaars, rickety rides, and the impermanence of it all that makes it all just so....magical.

 

The hot ticket this year was what I would consider to be the freakiest - getting your hand molded in wax. "Great for Couples!" "Make ANY Hand Gesture!" the signs say. $7/hand, or $18 if you want a couple of hands intertwined and holding a rose, as this couple is doing here. FREAK-Y. Your hands end up looking fat after dipping them 5 or 6 times in the wax, and the patrons start to look uncomfortable as they realize what they just paid for, not to mention they are holding hands for an excrutiatingly extended amount of time. The four of us stood in horror and watched this process take place.

 

Ah, the sweet fair lights.

 

Magical, I tell you.
