It's really trying. My poor little Canon knows it has an important job to do: bring my life to you via The Elizabethan Era, every day. Well, these days, its performance is once again fading, and it is not letting me view my photos, or my subject, through the display screen. I took some test shots to see if it was actually taking pictures.
Fortunately I learned that yes, it was, I just can't see them until after they are uploaded. It's almost like waiting for film to be developed! I had nearly forgotten that old feeling of anticipation when you go to the photo counter to get your photos developed, having no idea if the hundreds of photos you took on your month-long trip to Europe amounted to anything, torn between the one-hour or three-day development time, or whether you want doubles.
Now every time a photo is taken, we say "Can I see?" I love those scenes where you extend your arm out, take a self portrait of you and/or friends together, and then everyone gathers 'round the camera to see what they looked like (and no, a mirror is not sufficient). So much for Kodak moments. Kodak doesn't really get that involved much anyway.
All this is to say that I'm sitting in an intriguing in-between spot as far as photos go. It's kinda fun. And I apologize if the next few photos are absolutely awful and lacking any artistic flair. I think the camera just needs a little time to come around - it's done this once before.

It DID used to be exciting (I'd forgotten about that thrill) but now we can control our prettiness for posterity, so I still have to go with that. :)
