July 1

Watch out everyone, I've just selected "large" for my picture mode. Hope this homemade strawberry jam doesn't overwhelm your eyes. It was a definite sensation on my tastebuds - jam on toast, jam in my yogurt and grape nuts. And of course, my coffee and paper. Another Bedside Baptist Sunday for me. But can you blame me when I have so much toast to eat?

So it looks like I have another item to add to the hobby resume. Freezer Jams. The last time I ever made freezer jam was in 8th grade Home Ec. with Mrs. McLaskey, and as I recall, I was just as excited about it as I am now. You may think I'm just about the biggest dork (reverting to my 8th grade vocab, apparently) for raving about jam-making, but I think anyone who makes freezer jam is just as enthusiastic about it as I am. And the strawberries I picked at Siemer's farm were so sweet that I didn't even have to use that much sugar. So the moral of the story is: make freezer jam and you will experience a million delights.

I also made freezer jam with my strawberries and have had a frequent breakfast of bagel with a light layer of cream cheese and freezer jam. Mmm, tasty.

Shauna makes a great freezer jam too! Come to Portland and we'll take you to Sauvie Island to go fruit picking. Then you can make some freezer jam along with Shauna, Krista, Emily and Megan! You can never have too much freezer jam! We're still looking for the Matrix to pull up! Coming anytime soon?
