This weekend I decorated the heck out of some cookies. Judging by my color choice, you'd think I was frosting Easter eggs. That's the irony!
These gorgeous colors were for unsightly monster hands and other assorted Hallowe'en themed cut-outs (I'm not sure what the original intention of a "hand cookie" is, but my sister gave me the cookie cutter for Christmas, and I love the possibilities). There's something about runny icing and delicate butter cookies that is a bit like a right-handed person trying to paint her nails with her left hand. No matter how old I get, my cookies somehow always look like a 5-year-old decorated them. (Last year when I brought some into work, my boss asked me if my nieces had decorated them. And actually, I'm sure if I brought in the ones they actually decorated, I would have been complimented on my decorating skills.)
Mmmm...freaky edible colors.
