Marvelous Mom Time

My mom says that house guests are like fish - they begin to smell after 3 days. I would like to take this opportunity to tell my mom that she is quite incorrect. That's right, Mom, you're wrong - you were a delight the entire time and the air was quite refreshing and brisk!

I played the role of a sponge this weekend as Mom explained the process of preparing, creating and finishing a sewing project. This time around it was an apron. She barely started anything before she let me take over on the pinning, sewing, pressing, etc., so she could read - just as it should be. Whenever I start something new like this, my fear is that I'll get hung up on one part of it, and get frustrated and quit. Having Mom here prevented that from ever happening. She would stop to explain my next steps, help fix my mistakes, all the while providing encouragement and good cheer, and a couple cookies when she thought I looked hungry. What a great mom, huh?

Of course it couldn't be all work and no play. We just had to stop at Huckleberry's after church to find a yummy lunch.

Mission happily accomplished!

I would have taken more pictures, but alas, I was sewing, sewing, and pressing. Thanks and love to Mom who made this weekend so fun, and an extra special thanks to Dad who graciously allowed the fun to happen without him, much to all of our shagrin, while he dined on frozen pizza. He's the best.
