If you live in Spokane, you darn well better know what it means to live here during the fall harvest. I'm talking about Green Bluff. You may recall my previous summer trips to Green Bluff (strawberries, peaches), but fall is the prime time to make the big drive up the hill for all the apples and pumpkins and gourds you could ever want. It's the hot spot for photo-op's, people trying desperately to have a great time despite the fact that it's freezing, and apple pie. There's something there for everyone.
Oh look, here's a cute looking couple that could use a third wheel!
If this picture could have a song title, it would be "Alone Together."
Buckets o' gourds.
Sometimes a squash needs a little TLC to become something tasty. Crystal's thinking about that.
How do you know when you've found the perfect squash? Well, my friends, it's much like finding a good melon. If it smells sweeter than you, it probably is. But, more commonly, you just know.
