For those of you who don't live in Spokane, we really do have a few cool things going on here. One of the sweet things you'll see during an evening stroll down 1st Ave. (Thurs. - Sat.) is an old silent movie projected against the white building wall of the old Fox Theater. Sometimes people will stop for a moment on the sidewalk to catch a few minutes of the show -- usually long enough to recognize the overly dramatic facial expressions and dialogue.
The best place to watch it, however, is while sitting at ella's - the only fairly reliable place to hear jazz on any of those nights.
This photo was taken through the fire escape railing directly outside the window by my table. It wasn't until I uploaded this picture later that I realized you could actually read the words. Kinda sweet.
